April Cromer, Candidate

My name is April Cromer.  My husband Paul and I made Leavenworth County our home back in 2015 when our careers in federal service brought us to the area. I have two daughters, two stepsons, and seven grandchildren.

I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and an Associate's Degree in Criminal Justice.  I have also earned a paralegal certificate from the Sturm College of Law, University of Denver.

With over 20 years of experience in the criminal justice field, I have worked legal cases alongside Special US Attorneys and managed a ten million dollar federal budget, ensuring compliance with the Government Accountability Office.

As a 'Training for Trainers' Instructor, I was responsible for educating and developing other instructors.

I have also served as a youth minister and led Healing Journey groups to help women transitioning from incarceration experience healing from mental, emotional and spiritual wounds.

Expertise:

  • Accounting
  • Budget Management
  • Legal Research and High Profile Court Case Trial Preparation
  • "Training for Trainers" Instructor
  • Staff Negotiator
  • Lead Instructor for "Violence in the Workplace" prevention training
  • Human Resources/Contract Specialist
  • Ensured Continuing Education Requirements for Staff
  • ACA Auditor for Accreditation
  • Supervision of Staff

Commitment:

Residents in USD-469 pay taxes to fund the public schools, but elected officials often make decisions without considering their impact on future generations. I am committed to serving our community with objectivity, efficiency, transparency, and excellence while focusing on student achievement for USD 469.
